Photo below...The small shelving unit is not part of the entertainment center, it will end up in our master bath. The tall thin boxes leaning against the wall contain doors.
Photo below...Looking across our living room into our dinning nook, at a sea of boxes
Photo below...Another perspective of the above photo...lots of boxes...Notice how we left just enough space to create a path so we can negotiate around the boxes and access our dinning nook...got to eat sometime !
Photo below...The wide thin boxes contain the wood "skins" that will be glued to the unfinished sides of the cabinets; the long square shaped boxes house crown moulding to finish off the tops of the 2 tower end cabinets.
Okay now all we have to do is put it altogether. Stay tuned.
Did they send a little man in a box to put it altogether too!
ReplyDeleteI think you guys are going to have some fun with all that, looks like you have a great space to work though.
Excited to see it all tog.
Have a great Day, T.
LOL@ stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck--my husband built our DVD shelving unit and stained it. Turns out I'm allergic to the stain fumes! Took me a week to get back to my normal there and the DVD shelf is outside on the back porch!
I really do wish you both the best of luck!
I have to say, I'm drooling over your floors! I want hardwood floors! I'm tired of carpets!
ReplyDeleteoh that looks a bit daunting! can't wait to see it all put together! how exciting! ;)
ReplyDeleteT - I wish they did send a little guy to put it all together. John got up this morning, St. Patrick's Day, and was disappointed that no leprechauns had installed it all. Guess they were too busy drinking green beer. :D
ReplyDeleteCathryn - Thanks, we'll need the luck, don't think there is a level wall in this house. Oh about our floors, guess you could say they're Trompe l'oeil as they are not really wood...they're vinyl strips that only look like wood. There's no way we could have afforded to put hardwood flooring down throughout our house, it would have been pushing it to just put hardwood flooring in our living room. :(
Cabin+cub - I have my fingers crossed. It's one thing to see it on paper, or envision it in your mind and quite another to actually see in up close and personal.
Oh my goodness you have to put this together AND veneer it yourselves? Yikes you are brave souls lol! When you posted that it was conceptualized at a design center I thought for sure the wallet-draining price would include installation. Off to read the next chapter in the saga!
