Leapin' Lizards ! It's May 11th and it's hot. We live just south of Tampa and even though Florida is known for its heat and humidity, it's still HOT ! The temperature on our front porch, in the shade, registers over 90 degrees. On the back patio, in the shade, the thermometer now reads 103 !!!

Even this little lizard, clinging to our patio screen, seems to be trying to stretch himself out to cool off. I think he looks a bit like a dancer in these positions.

And a one-two, cha-cha-cha. Turn, point, cha-cha-cha.

  1. ICK! I couldn't hack that heat. I was whining about it being 86 today. I love your little lizardy friend :)

  2. holy cow, that is hotter than I can bear. Over here in Maryland we had our 2nd day of frost in a row. So much for those veggie seedlings we planted. Very weird weather.

  3. Great post. I wish it was hot here on the other side of the country. Florence, OR. rain again. As usual.

  4. Hillarious! Hang in there, baby!
Sorry about the early heat. We have a cool spell...had to turn the heater back on.

  5. Aly - The temps are high for this time of year, this is more like July heat ! I know that folks in Texas are used to the same sizzling heat of summer that we get in Florida, so enjoy the cooler days while you can. I am sooo NOT looking forward to July and August !!!

Plantress - Too bad we couldn't get a median number between your frosty weather and our heat...then it would be pleasantly comfortable. Sorry to hear you lost the seedlings, Mother Nature can sometimes be heartless.

Beadwright - well I wish you warmth but not this kind of heat. Looks like we are in for a scorching, long summer. :(

Tash - I am rather fond of all our little lizards, they can be rather comical at times. I'm sure they don't mind the heat as much as I do.
I've heard that the north east has also been having cold weather and even snow in some places...wonder if that means our Florida heat will plummet in a couple of days ? Mother Nature is having a hard time making up her mind this spring. :)

  6. oh he is a cute little fella.
it doesn't get that hot here.. so no lizards... ;)

  7. Anna, wow, that is HOT!!!!!! We are going to have some sun for a few days after all the rain we are looking forward to it but it won't be that hot. Stay cool, T. :)

  8. Wish I was there! The lizard is so cute - we don't have them here.

Thanks for stopping by Kristie's List, and I am your newest follower!

  9. Please, if you wouldn't mind, could you send a little of that heat up this way? Its May in New England and up until a couple days ago only registering in the 40's at night. NEED HEAT lol! Super cute lizard dance lol

Nothing makes me happier than to hear from those who have dropped by my blog for a visit. I love hearing from you.
